چکیده
We investigate the problem of forces on moving vortex in a superfluid or superconductor. The main purpose is to locate the source which leads to the contradictory results in the literature. We establish the connection between this problem to the difficult but well studied subject of resistivity formula in transport theory. The relaxation time approximation used in the force calculation via force-force correlation function is shown to be invalid. The roles of Berry's phase and fluctuation-dissipation theorems are discussed. For a vortex moving in a superfluid or superconductor, the only agreement we have reached so far is at zero temperature, in absence of any impurity potentials. Question arises in more complicated cases. Using the Berry's phase calculation [1], as well as the exact total force-force correlation calculation [2], It has been shown that the transverse force is the Magnus force, coming from extended states with no dependence on the core level spacing and other extrinsic details. Other microscopic derivations using core state transitions [3–7] have shown, however, that the transverse force on a moving vortex is greatly reduced in

Nonlocal Resistivity in the Fluctuation Region of Thin Superconducting Film
The nonlocal resistivity in fluctuation region of thin superconducting films is observed and investigated. It is supposed that the observed non-local resistivity is caused by a difference of distribution laws of normal and superconducting current density. The measurements show that the nonlocal resistivity is suppressed in low magnetic field. The obtained results are interpreted as the absence ...

As a follow up to articles dealing firstly with a convective variational formulation in a Milne-Cartan framework for non-dissipative multi fluid models, and secondly with various ensuing stress energy conservation laws and generalised virial theorems, this work continues a series showing how analytical procedures developed in the context of General Relativity can be usefully adapted for impleme...
متن کاملReconstruction Lemma and Fluctuation-Dissipation Theorem
We discuss a new approach to nonequilibrium statistical thermodynamics based on mappings of the microscopic dynamics into the macroscopic dynamics. Near stationary solutions, this mapping results in a compact formula for the macroscopic vector field without a hypothesis of a separation of time scales. Relations of this formula to short-memory approximation, the Green-Kubo formula, and expressio...
متن کاملModified fluctuation-dissipation theorem for general non-stationary states and application to the Glauber--Ising chain
In this paper, we present a general derivation of a modified fluctuation-dissipation theorem (MFDT) valid near an arbitrary non-stationary state for a system obeying Markovian dynamics. We show that the method for deriving modified fluctuation-dissipation theorems near non-equilibrium stationary states used by Prost et al (2009 Phys. Rev. Lett. 103 090601) is generalizable to non-stationary sta...
متن کاملOrigin of superconductivity transition broadening in MgB2
We report resistivity and magnetization of single crystal MgB2, focusing on the broadening of superconducting (SC) transition in magnetic fields. In-plane and outof-plane resistivity indicate that the broadening of superconducting transition is independent of Lorentz force and that it is merely dependent on the magnetic field direction. In magnetization, diamagnetic signal begins to appear at a...
